In short
GEO, generative engine optimization, is monthly work on your pages so AI answer engines such as ChatGPT can read and quote them, with a check each month of whether they did. From our Los Angeles base it costs $850 a month with a build or a care plan from us, $2,125 on its own. No one can promise a mention.
A GEO retainer: A GEO retainer is a monthly engagement in which an agency keeps a business's pages easy for AI answer engines to read and quote, and checks how those engines answer the questions the business wants to be found for. The checks are the backbone: the same set of questions is asked each month on several engines, and every answer is logged with its date and the sources it cited. The page work follows from what the log shows, and the retainer is judged by that log, never by a promised ranking.
What you get
Many questions now end in one written answer instead of a list of links, and that answer quotes the pages its engine chose to trust. The months of the retainer are built from the list below.
- A monthly check of 20 questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Claude, each answer logged with its date and citations
- Answer pages written or refreshed each month, chosen by what the check shows
- Structured data kept true to what each page says
- Your business profiles kept consistent across the sites that describe you
- A freshness pass each month, with dated updates and a current sitemap
- A one-page report in plain words, and the full log in a spreadsheet you own
How it goes
The first month sets the baseline. We agree on the questions your customers ask, and the first check logs who each engine names and which pages it cites. The written plan lists those questions and the pages we start with, next to the monthly price.
Every month after that follows the same loop. We run the check again, work on the pages the log points to, keep the structured data and your profiles in step, and send you a one-page report of what changed and what comes next.
Where it fits
GEO is a monthly retainer with two prices. With a build or a care plan from us it is $850 a month, because the site's pages are already in our hands. On a site we do not look after it is $2,125 a month, since the first months go to making the pages readable to the engines at all.
The SEO baseline comes with every site we build.

Three ways to show up in AI answers
In short
You can do the basics of GEO yourself with a checklist and an afternoon a month. What a retainer adds is a logged monthly check across several engines, and the page work that follows from it.
Some owners run their own checks by asking the engines a few questions now and then. The table sets that next to the software that watches for mentions and next to the monthly work.
| A DIY tool | A template | Custom | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A tracking tool that asks the engines your questions | A plugin or a checklist applied to your pages | Monthly checks and page work done for you |
| Cost over time | A monthly subscription, plus your time acting on it | A plugin fee, plus your time | From $850 a month with a build or a care plan from us |
| What changes on your site | Nothing until you act on the report | Whatever the plugin's settings reach | Your pages and structured data, month by month |
| What you can check | The tool's own dashboard | Little beyond the settings | A dated log of every answer, in a spreadsheet you own |
| Best fit | An owner with time to act on the findings | A site that has never had the basics | An owner who wants the work done and the record kept |

A worked example (hypothetical)
Picture an independent physical therapy clinic with two locations and a site someone else built a few years ago. When people ask an AI engine for a physical therapist nearby, the answers name other clinics and cite directory pages instead of the clinic's own.
On a site we did not build, GEO would be $2,125 a month. The first months would go to making the pages readable to the engines, starting with a plain answer at the top of each service page and structured data that matches it.
If the clinic later rebuilt its site with us, the same work would drop to $850 a month. Either way the monthly log would show, question by question, which engines named the clinic and which pages they cited.
From the work
The sites below were built for answer engines as well as for search, with structured data that describes the business and an llms.txt that sums up the site. Each case study shows what was built, which is the part anyone can check.

Common questions
What is GEO in marketing?
GEO, generative engine optimization, is making your pages easy for AI answer engines to read and quote correctly. It builds on ordinary SEO, since an engine can only cite a page it can crawl, and adds direct answers and structured data that matches the page.
Can you get my business cited by ChatGPT?
No one can promise that, and we never do. The engines decide what to cite, and the same question can get a different answer tomorrow. What we can do is make your pages easy to cite and show you, every month, what the engines actually said. We never buy reviews or invent mentions to get there.
Why does GEO have two prices?
With a build or a care plan from us, the site's pages are already in our hands, so the retainer is $850 a month. On a site we do not look after, the first months go to making the pages readable to the engines, so it is $2,125 a month.
Do you still do SEO?
Yes. The SEO baseline comes with every site we build, and GEO works on the same pages classic search reads.
What do I get each month?
A one-page report: the questions we checked, where you were named and by which engine, what changed since last month, what we did and what comes next. The full log is yours, in a spreadsheet you own.
How long before GEO shows results?
There is no fixed date, and we will not give one. Engines change their answers from week to week, so the work builds over months, and the monthly log shows where you stand either way.
Start with a written plan
Tell us about the business and what you need. We reply with questions, then a written plan that lists the work and its price, and nothing starts until you have read it.
