AI for an industry
AI for salons and spas
Phone bookings for each service, with the stylist or therapist asked for and at its full length, in the salon software you use, confirmed in the written plan.

In short
With hands in foils or halfway through a massage, nobody at a salon or spa can pick up, so the phone goes to voicemail at the busiest hours. An AI receptionist can pick up instead, priced after a short call. Where the written plan confirms your software takes outside bookings, it books each service with the stylist or therapist named, at its full length; otherwise the desk gets the request.
Key facts
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the schedules of barbers, hairstylists and cosmetologists often include evenings and weekends, when barbershops and beauty salons may be busiest.

Of about 595,000 jobs held by hairdressers, hairstylists and cosmetologists in 2025, the Bureau of Labor Statistics lists 48 percent as self-employed and notes that some lease booth space from a salon owner.

The AI jobs that fit a salon or spa
The jobs below are the ones we would suggest building first, in order, each priced in the written plan that follows a short call. A job with its own page links to it, with how it works and what moves its price.
- AI receptionistWhen a regular asks for their usual stylist, it finds that stylist's next opening for the service and books it at its real length where your software allows, so a full color never lands in a trim's slot.Receptionist care, a monthly service fee after launch. How it works
- AI follow-up, text and emailA cancelled color is offered back as a link to another time, and each booking's confirmation repeats your late-cancellation fee.Ops retainer, a monthly fee after launch. How it works
- AI website chatKnows your service menu as your pages write it, the price at each stylist level included, and books the visit where your software allows.A care plan, a monthly fee after launch. How it works
Your cancellation policy, before the booking
The receptionist reads your cancellation and deposit policy, as you wrote it, to every caller it books, and the follow-up's confirmation repeats it. Nobody meets the policy for the first time at checkout, and nobody at the desk has to explain it with color on their gloves.
Deposits stay where they are now: your booking tool asks for one after the appointment is made, and no card number is ever read out to the receptionist.
Salon software, and whose book it is
Salon software usually holds the whole book, from service lengths to deposits. Where its maker lets outside programs make bookings, and your subscription tier includes that, the receptionist books straight into it, and both are checked in the written plan first. Without that access, each request becomes an email in the salon's inbox, and the next free hand at the desk books it.
Chair renters often keep books of their own. In a salon like that, the written plan maps which book each request goes to, stylist by stylist.
A worked example (hypothetical)
Friday evening at a day spa in Studio City, where the software takes outside bookings and an AI receptionist answers the line: all four treatment rooms are in use when a caller asks for a couples massage on Sunday at two.
The receptionist looks for a time when two therapists and one room are free together. Nothing is open at two, so it offers a quarter past three, which the caller takes. The booking lands in the spa's software with an email to the front desk, and the confirmation goes out on Saturday afternoon. Before the job was priced, the spa's written plan checked that its software takes those outside bookings.

Common questions
What if the price depends on the hair?
It quotes from your price list, the price at each stylist level included, and books anything that needs a look first, such as a color correction, as a consultation.
Can it book a couples massage?
Yes, when your software can hold two therapists and one room at once. It only offers times when all of them are free, and otherwise passes the request to the desk.
If a regular's stylist is booked up, what does it offer?
That stylist's next open times first, then the first opening with anyone else who does the service, and it books whichever the caller picks.
Will it charge our late-cancellation fee?
No. It tells each caller the fee as your policy words it, and the confirmation says it again, but charging a card is left to your booking tool and the desk.
