Before-and-after gallery

What a before-and-after gallery is on a practice website, and who decides which photos it shows.

Definition

Before-and-after gallery: A before-and-after gallery is a set of paired photos on a practice's website, each pair showing a client before a treatment and after it. People weighing a treatment use it to judge what the treatment can do, so it tends to sit close to the treatment pages and the consultation request. Practices usually show a pair only with the client's written consent. What may be shown or claimed through such photos is for the practice and its advisers to decide, and the site displays only the pairs the practice has cleared.

Where it shows up

Galleries appear on the sites of med spas, cosmetic dentists and similar practices, usually grouped by treatment so a visitor sees results for the concern they came with.

In a build, the gallery is ordinary page work. The care comes in the step before it: the practice confirms a signed consent before each pair is published.
